Two UML candidates under police control for security

Kathmandu, May 12

Locals have taken control of the CPN-UML candidates for Sandakpur Rural Municipality Chief Uday Rai.

They claimed Rai, who reached Jamuna, Sandakpur Rural Municipality-5, on Wednesday night, was put under their control as he was allegedly trying to influence voters. Ward member candidate Sita Karki was also brought under their control.

Chief of the District-based Armed Police Force, Suresh Sapkota, said that both of them were brought under their control for security after locals started chasing them away, accusing them of carrying out publicity campaigns during the silent hour.

Locals have demanded action against them alleging that both the candidates violated the
Election Code of Conduct.
