The National Sports Council member secretary Tankalal Ghising supervised the formation of the executive committee following a meeting of the primary organizing committee held in Kathmandu on Friday. The coordinator, the departmental heads of the council, the administrative head of the committee, two members—including at least one woman—nominated by the chairperson, and the member secretary of the staff committee. The executive committee has been instructed by the meeting to establish several subject committees as needed. Maheshwar Gahatraj, the minister of youth and sports, made it clear at the meeting that the ninth national sports competition will take place on the scheduled day. He said that the competition will be run by quickly choosing the participants. He promised to ensure that other preparations, including setting up the competition’s infrastructure, go without a problem.
Similarly, Secretary Ghising of the National Sports Council reported that the Ministry of Finance had approved a budget of Rs 600 million for the competition. The Ninth National Games will take place from October 14 until October 20. It had previously been planned to take place from June 5 to June 11. But for a number of reasons, the tournament was postponed.
