The development of the tourism industry is the primary objective, according to Jeevan Ram
Shrestha, minister of culture, tourism, and civil aviation. Speaking on Tuesday during a program put on by the Nepal Tourist Board at the reception for the recently appointed Tourism Minister Shrestha, he said that the Covid-19 crisis had seriously harmed the tourism industry and that its improvement should be given top priority.
Minister Shrestha asked the board to develop a new budget that would create jobs, adding that tourism is a critical element of Nepal’s economic growth. Maheshwor Neupane, the board’s chairman and secretary to the ministry, stated that the board is developing a new budget to boost tourism in Covid. According to Dr. Dhananjay Regmi, executive chair of the board, the Board has been working on several projects to promote both internal and external tourism and generate employment from the time of Covid.
The Nepal Tourism and Hotel Management Foundation (NATHM), which is focused on
developing a workforce for the tourism industry, is now preparing to grow its branch at the
state level. Such a strategy will be in place in the next Fiscal Year 2079/80 BS, according to the Ministry of Culture, Tourism, and Civil Aviation. According to the proposal, the Nepal Tourism and Hotel Management Academy would grow and open branches in all the states.
