Kathmandu, June 17
The Meteorological Forecasting Division, Department of Hydrology and Meteorology has
predicted heavy rainfall in some parts of the country today due to the influence of monsoon
winds, cautioning the people to remain alert to possible risks.
Today, heavy rain is forecast in one or two parts of Province 1 and Madhesh Province, while the risk of soil erosion and landslides in Province 1’s hilly region remains.
Similarly, water levels in rivers and intermittent rivers are likely to rise, and monsoon activities may have an impact on people’s daily lives and the transport sector.
Light to moderate rain with thunder and lightning has been forecast at some places of Province 1, Madhesh Province, Bagmati Province and Gandaki Province and at a few places of Lumbini Province and at one or two places of the hilly regions of the rest of the provinces. Chances remain high for heavy rainfall at one or two places of Province 1 and Madhesh Province.
