Within a year and a half, the Kathmandu metropolis’ electricity lines will be ‘underground’: Shah, Mayor

Kathmandu, June 12

Balendra Shah, the Mayor of Kathmandu Metropolitan City, has stated that all of the city’s cables will be underground within the next year and a half.

He added that the electricity lines will be placed underground in coordination with the
responsible bodies, in response to questions raised during the Kathmandu Metropolitan City’s second executive meeting.

“I have received a guarantee from the Electricity Authority that all lines would be underground within the next one and a half years,” he stated. There will be metropolitan collaboration in this.’ On the first Monday of each month, he added, a conference with the chiefs of roads, energy, drinking water, and other agencies will be conducted to examine their collaboration. Mayor Shah has recommended that every home receive reverse boring.
