18-point agreement at midnight to pick up garbage in Kathmandu

Kathmandu, June 10

Garbage that was collected in Kathmandu before the local level election will be collected again starting today.

An agreement on garbage management in the valley was achieved during meetings between the Kathmandu Metropolitan City and representatives of Sisdol-Bancharedanda, which ended at 1 p.m. on Thursday.

Garbage will now be transported only at night, according to an 18-point agreement reached
between the people’s representatives of the dump site affected area, the villagers, and the Kathmandu Metropolitan City.

An agreement had previously been struck between the protesting areas’ people’s representatives and the Ministry of Urban Development, as well as the metropolis. Locals, on the other hand, continued to protest.
