Price of petroleum products has increased once again

Kathmandu, June 10

The Nepal Oil Corporation (NOC) has increased the prices of petroleum products. The
increment was made after the NOC failed to pay the regular installment to Indian Oil
Corporation (IOC) – the sole supplier of petroleum products.

With effect from Thursday midnight, the NOC board of directors decided to hike the price of
petrol by Rs 8 per liter and diesel/kerosene by Rs 12 per liter.

The retail price of petrol has gone to Rs 178 per liter, and diesel/kerosene has increased to Rs 165 per liter, following the recent price hike. Cooking LP gas and aviation fuel remain
unchanged in price.

The price had to be increased due to the high price of petroleum products on the international market and the IOC’s arrears, according to NOC spokesperson Binit Mani Upadhyaya.
