Kathmandu, May 29
After bad weather, the helicopter that flew from Pokhara to Jomsom on Sunday morning to
search for the missing Tara Airplane has returned.
Issuing a statement on Sunday afternoon, Tara Air said that helicopters are on standby position in Kathmandu, Pokhara, and Jomsom to search and rescue the missing aircraft.
As soon as the weather improves, the airlines said they would begin searching by air.
The Nepal Army, Nepal Police, and Tara Air have all deployed rescue teams to the spot.
With 19 passengers and three crew members on board, the Tara Air twin-otter plane took off at 9:55 a.m. on Sunday.
12 minutes after takeoff, the plane lost contact. Basant Lama, Yeti Air’s pilot, was also on board.
