Acharya elected as mayor of Pokhara

Kathmandu, May 25

Common candidate from the ruling five-party alliance Dhanraj Acharya of CPN (Unified
Socialist) has registered his victory as mayor in Pokhara Metropolitan City.

Acharya got 58,893 votes while his nearest rival Krishna Bahadur Thapa of CPN UML got 52,848 votes.

Similarly, CPN-UML candidate Manju Devi Gurung has been elected the deputy mayor with
60,546 votes. Her nearest ruling alliance candidate Kopila Ranabhat of the Nepali Congress
received 56,663 votes.
