Kathmandu, May 25
Chiribabu Maharjan, a candidate for the Nepali Congress (NC), was re-elected as mayor of
Lalitpur Metropolitan City (LMC) for the second time.
Manjali Shakya of the CPN-UML won the post of deputy mayor in LMC.
Maharjan received 42,722 votes, while his closest rival Hari Krishna Byanjankar of the CPN-UML received 24,560 votes.
Similarly, deputy mayoral candidate Shakya received 25,085 votes to win. Her nearest rival
Baburaj Bajracharya of the CPN (Maoist Center) got 18, 752 votes.
