UCPN (M) wins Mugu’s Khatyad village chairman and Nepali Congress wins vice-chairman

Kathmandu, May 18

The UCPN (Maoist) has been elected chairman of the district’s Khatyad gaupalika, while the Nepali Congress has been elected vice-chairman.

The UCPN (M)’s Bahadur Shahi received 3521 votes to win the election. By 900 votes, he defeated UML’s Lal Bahadur Malla. Malla, UML’s closest rival, received 2621 votes.

Sarita Rokaya of the Congress won the election with 4548 votes. By 2049 votes, she defeated UML’s Kabita Giri. Kabita of UML received 2499 votes.

UCPN (M) has won 5 of the 11 wards in this village municipality, while Congress-UML has won 3/3 of the wards.

UML won four wards in the 2074 BS local elections, including the village municipality
chairperson and vice-chairperson. It’s only three wards this time.
