Kathmandu, May 18
Independent candidate Raju Singh Kathayat has been elected as the mayor of Chandannath
municipality in Jumla. He was elected mayor with 2,403 votes.
His nearest rival Padma Bahadur Shahi of the Nepali Congress received 2,322 votes. He resigned as a member of the General Committee after Congress did not give him a ticket.
Ram Devi Khadka of Nepali Congress has been elected as the Deputy Mayor. Khadka received 2,808 votes.
