Kathmandu, May 17
Shiv Narayan Yadav of the Nepali Congress was elected chairman of Saptari’s Bodebersain
Municipality-3 by a single vote.
Bhuvaneshwar Yadav of the UCPN (M) came in second with 599 votes.
Maoist cadres have been protesting since Yadav was lost by a single vote, accusing him of
cheating the vote count.
They went on strike after the results were revealed by the election official’s office in
Bodebersain, accusing them of cheating the vote.
