Kathmandu, May 17
With nearly double the number of votes, Prashant Bista of the Nepali Congress is leading in the election for mayor of Nepalgunj sub-metropolitan city.
Bista received 8340 votes, while CPN-Pashupati UML’s Dayal Mishra received 4377 votes. Egypt is 3963 votes ahead of Bista.
With 3361 votes, RPP’s Nandalal Vaishya leads Mishra. The ruling parties have formed an
alliance in Nepalgunj.
Kamaruddin Rai of the alliance party Jasapa received 6788 votes in the election.
With 4361 votes, Rai is followed by RPP’s Bindu Charti Magar.
Shantidevi Dhakal of the CPN-UML received 4200 votes. In Nepalgunj, vote counting has been completed in wards 1, 2, 3, 4, 20, 21, 22, and 23.
