Kathmandu, May 17
Krishna Hari Maharjan and Sirjana Burlakoti of Nepali Congress have been elected as the mayor and deputy mayor of Tarkeshwor Municipality of Kathmandu. Maharjan got 11,988 votes while CPN-UML candidate Rameshwar Bohara got 7,808 votes.
Lov Kumar Basnet of CPN-Unified Socialist got 2,528 votes and Basant Kumar Basnet of RPP got 1,001 votes.
While Burlakoti got 10 thousand 786 votes for the post of deputy mayor, Bhavani Dotel Dhital of CPN-UML got 8 thousand 6 votes.
In the 2074 election, Rameshwar Bohara and Bhavani Dotel Dhital, who had won the mayoral and deputy mayoral posts from the CPN-UML.
