600 families displaced in Sri Lanka due to continuous rains

Kathmandu, May 16

Due to the continuous rainfall, extreme flood danger was declared in Sri Lanka on Saturday.

Along with the rains, natural calamities such as floods and landslides have happened.

The worst flooding has been in the Ratanpura area, south of Colombo. More than 82 houses in the district have been destroyed by floods and landslides, as well as other physical structures.

More regions are expected to be affected as a result of the landslides and rains.
