A meeting of the ruling coalition is being held today to coordinate the upcoming local elections in the metropolis and sub-metropolis.

The ruling coalition has called a meeting to reach an agreement on the distribution of
metropolitan and sub-metropolitan cities at the Prime Minister’s official residence in Baluwatar at 11 am today as well.

The ruling coalition failed to reach an agreement on the distribution of metropolises and sub-metropolises at a meeting on Monday.

According to Nepali Congress leader and Minister for Communications and Information
Technology Gyanendra Bahadur Karki, the ruling coalition met twice yesterday but failed to
reach an agreement.

“We could not finalize candidates in all the places and will be meeting again at 11 on Tuesday,” he said.

Meanwhile, as the coalition meeting was underway this afternoon, United States Ambassador to Nepal Randy Berry had entered Baluwatar. The purpose of his visit is yet to be known.
