On April 16, the ‘Durbar Marg Festival’ will put Nepali food and culture front and center

On Saturday, April 16, the 15th ‘Durbar Marg Festival’ will take place. The event is being organized by the Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FNCCI), Durbarmarg Development Board, Restaurant and Bar Association (Reban), and communications service provider Ncell. Gorkha Brewery is a co-sponsor.

The celebration will take place on the south side of Durbar Marg, up to Mahendra Shalik, and on the north side, up to the Narayanhiti Museum Gate traffic pole. According to the federation, the event would promote Nepali local goods, Nepali food, and Nepali culture. To showcase the province’s culture, the federation wants to display art and cultures from many castes on April 16 at 10 a.m.

The event will be formally started at 11:30 a.m., following the exhibition of the cultural tableau, according to reports. Deepak Bajracharya, Samridhi Rai with the band, Suwani Moktan, Sandeep Chhetri, Sursudha, Srishtri KC & Blind Rocks, Rushan & Lajju, Everest Crew, Mahesh Kafle, Rajan Raj Shiwakoti, Melina Rai, and Vek will perform after the inauguration. The show will continue until 8:15 p.m.

The FNCCI held a news conference today to provide details about the event (Thursday). The Durbar Marg Festival, according to Chairman Shekhar Golchha, will bring respite to the tourism industry, which has been struck hard by the Corona outbreak and will send a strong statement across the country. Along with the event, he predicted that the country’s social, economic, and tourist sectors will be overjoyed.

The festival will feature 60 stalls. Food, including Nepali specialties, will be available in 35 stalls, according to the federation. Separate kid zones will be available, as well as handicrafts made by entrepreneurs with varying physical capacities.
