Kathmandu, March 18

On Friday, the Constitutional Bench would hear a writ petition filed in the Supreme Court
against the constitutional appointments made by the then-KP Sharma Oli government.

After amending provisions of the Constitutional Council through an ordinance, Oli’s government made appointments to various constitutional bodies.

Senior advocate Dinesh Tripathi and advocate Om Prakash Aryal had then filed a writ petition against those appointments stating that the ordinance was against the constitution and appointments were made without conducting parliamentary hearings. They have also
demanded to scrap those appointments.
