Kathmandu, March 7
Bindaman Bista, the Minister for Economic Affairs and Planning made his assets public on
Sunday.
Finance Minister Bista, according to public numbers, appears to be in worse shape than other ministers. He possesses five tolas of gold purchased from his own income for 150,000 at various periods in Surkhet Barahatal Village Municipality-1.
Minister Bista stated that the quantity in stock is merely Rs 75,000 at this time. Mrs. Purja
Dalarmi (Bista) holds Rs 35,000 in NIC Asia Bank and Rs 50,000 in Rastriya Banijya Bank
accounts in Kathmandu. The sum was deducted from the pay, according to the statement.
Bista, the finance minister, owns a motorbike worth Rs 260,000 and owes Rs 1.3 million to his wife.
It is stated in the property data that the land is worth Rs 2 million. He also said that the land was acquired through inheritance and a loan.
According to Bista, land in the area of 1861 and 0-0-8.25 in Birendranagar Municipality-3 is
available. This land was passed down to him from his wife’s family.
Bista, who was appointed as a minister by the CPN-Maoist on November 30, gave the Chief
Minister’s office and the Council of Ministers his property data on Sunday. A person holding a public position is required by law to report property data within 60 days.
