Global IME Bank, Rashtriya Sahakari Bank, and Smart Choice Technologies have struck a
tripartite agreement. The issuing of a ‘Cop Card’ with the identification of ‘Cooperative for Cooperatives’ has been agreed upon. Ratna Raj Bajracharya, President and Chief Executive Officer of Global IME Bank, Narayan Prakash Bhuju, President and Chief Executive Officer of Smart Choice, and Badri Kumar Guragain, President and Chief Executive Officer of Rashtriya Sahakari inked the deal.

The cards will be based on worldwide chip cards and contactless technology standards. In Nepal and India, it may be used at ATMs and POS terminals. All cooperatives will be allowed to issue cards in the National Cooperative Bank as a result of this collaboration. This would improve cooperative sector access to the payment system and electronic transactions, eliminating the need to go to the bank for routine financial operations.
