Kathmandu, February 25

Madhav Kumar Nepal, the Chairman of the CPN (Unified Socialist) and a former Prime Minister, has said that the US government’s grant assistance MCC could not be ratified in its current shape by the parliament.

Chairman Nepal, addressing at the first Sudurpaschim Province gathering of the party’s youth association in Dhangadhi on Thursday, said the MCC should only be ratified based
on the agreement since it has deepened the country’s political crisis.

He said that his party supported the idea of serious discussions and consultations among all
political parties before parliament ratified the MCC.

Minister for Culture, Tourism, and Civil Aviation Prem Bahadur Ale also spoke at the event,
saying he would follow the party’s official stance on MCC.

“There have been rumors that Unified Socialist Party ministers will vote in favor of ratification the MCC. We will not make any decisions on our own; the decision of the party will be our final decision,” Minister Ale said.
