A public holiday has been declared in Madhes on Tuesday. On Monday alone, Janakpurdham
was given a leave of absence after the capital and the name Madhes Pradesh were established.
Finance Minister Shailendra Prasad Sah, who is also the spokesperson of the state government, informed that it has been decided to grant public leave in the state on Tuesday. In the state assembly polls held on Monday, a majority was reached in favor of naming the state Madhes Pradesh and the permanent capital Janakpur.
