The naming of Madhesh Pradesh has earned respect for the Madhes movement: Chairman Yadav

Chairman of the Janata Samajwadi Party (JSP) Upendra Yadav has said that the naming of
Madhesh Pradesh has earned respect for the Madhesh movement. Addressing a congratulatory meeting held last night after the meeting of the Provincial Assembly passed the name of Province No. 2 Madhesh Pradesh and the capital Janakpurdham by a two-thirds majority, Chairman Yadav said that the Madhes movement was honored with the naming of Madhesh Pradesh.

“The sacrifices made by the Madhesi people, one of the dreams of the martyrs was the
establishment of Madhesh Pradesh. That dream has come true. We feel that the Madhes
movement has got an honor from this,” said Chairman Yadav. Stating that the declaration of Madhesh Pradesh represents identity, Chairman Yadav said that he would now move forward to end inequality and inequality, discrimination and exploitation, ethnic and cultural
discrimination.

Stating that Madhesh Pradesh has been established up to the local level in all the eight districts of the state on the strength of Madhesh movement, he also thanked all the members of the state assembly and leaders of political parties for their support in the establishment of Madhesh state.

At the meeting, Minister for Physical Infrastructure and Transport Renu Kumari Yadav said that Madhesis who have been discriminated against for years will now feel respect. “Madhesh Pradesh has been established through the sacrifices of the martyrs in the Madhesh movement. We fought for the Madhesh Pradesh. It has been completed today. It has brought respect to the Madhesh movement and the martyrs.” Minister Yadav said.

Stating that the exploited sections got reservation in every part of the state due to the Madhes movement, Minister Yadav, who is also the leader of JSP, claimed that only his party could give rights to the oppressed communities including Madhesi, Janajati, Dalit and women.
