No difference in the election schedule of National Assembly members

The Election Commission has clarified that the election schedule of the members of the
National Assembly will not change in the situation arising out of Covid-19. The commission has clarified that the voting of National Assembly members will be held on Magh 12 by adopting health criteria. Commission spokesperson Shaligram Sharma Poudel said that the polling would be held as per the schedule as the number of voters for the National Assembly was limited.

According to the Ministry of Health and Population, the outbreak of Kovid-19 is on the rise
across the country. Spokesperson Poudel said that, if necessary, the state office of the
commission and the election officer would seek help and suggestions from the local level covid management mechanism on health standards. “If the commission decides to organize the voter turnout, polling stations will be added,” said Poudel.

The commission has so far identified 14 polling stations in eight polling stations. There will be two polling stations in each polling station. Fourteen polling stations have been identified in eight polling stations in all the seven states. In Province 1, there will be two separate polling stations for members of the Provincial Assembly and local level chiefs and deputy chiefs.

Voting for the 19-member National Assembly scheduled for Magh 12 will take place in all seven states. There are a total of 2,025 voters in all the seven states. There are 532 state assembly members and 1,493 local level chief and deputy chief members of the National Assembly.
