Nepse fell by 30 points, with over 8 billion shares traded

The stock market, which has been rising steadily for the past few days, has seen a ‘correction’ on Wednesday. On Wednesday, the Nepse index dropped by 30.51 points to 183.32 points. Despite the decline in the Nepse index, the transaction amount has remained high.

The share turnover reached over Rs 8 billion on Wednesday. With the purchase and sale of
1,61,47,390 shares, the transaction amount has reached Rs. 8,332,12,742. On the first and second days of the week, on Sunday and Monday, shares were traded above Rs 7 billion, while on Tuesday, shares worth around Rs 7 billion were traded.

Who earned? Who lost?

Himalayan Energy Development Company is the number one loser on Wednesday. The
company’s share price fell by Rs 30.90 to Rs 467 on Wednesday. In the second, the share price of Union Hydropower and in the third, the share price of Joshi Hydropower Company fell sharply. The union’s price has dropped by Rs 22 to Rs 376 while Joshi’s has dropped by Rs 19 to Rs 327.

Share prices of some companies have risen sharply despite the market slump. Shares of Karnali Development Bank, Nepal Infrastructure Bank and Narayani Development Bank traded at circuit level on Wednesday. Apart from this, the share price of Bhotekoshi Hydropower Company, Panchakanya Mai Hydro, Samling Power Company and other companies have also gone up.
