Kathmandu, January 12
Man of the Century Satya Mohan Joshi has observed the archeological and historical structures built by Madhyapurthimi Municipality.
He also observed the archeological and newly constructed structures of Shankhadhar Park
constructed by the municipality at Shankhadhar Chowk.
Mayor Madan Sundar Shrestha informed Joshi about the structures constructed at
Shankhadhar Park. Giving information about how the garbage dump has turned into an
attractive park, Mayor Shrestha said that the master plan here, the statue of Shankhadhar
Sakhwa to be built now, the structure including the conch.
Taking information about the stone fountains constructed in Shankhadhar Park, Joshi said that the story of Mahadev and Ganga is connected with the story of King Bhagiratha.
He said, ”When King Bhagiratha went to Kailash and begged Mahadev to do the work of rescuing his father, Mahadev poured water from his head like a waterfall.
Joshi also discussed about the art and culture of Madhyapurthimi as well as the important art culture of Nepal.
