An investigation was started into the Tamekot palace in Syangja

Kathmandu, January 9

An investigation has been launched into the historic Tamekot palace in Galyang municipality of Syangja district.

The Tamekot Durbar area, which was the brown-tailed kingdom of the Gurungs five hundred years ago, is now only a remnant. The walls of the palace and the shrine on the Sialbas hill are in ruins.

The Hattisthan Foundation has organized a three-day ‘Tamekot-Hattisthan Summit’ last year with the objective of rebuilding the palace. At the event, Gandaki Chief Minister Krishnachandra Nepali expressed the commitment of the state government to assist in the reconstruction of the palace. The Chief Minister said that the state government was aware of the need to protect the cultural heritage by reviving the remnant palace.

Dr. The palace is being rebuilt under the leadership of Shiva Shankar Basyal. Basyal has also written a novel ‘Raniphal’ based on the story of Tamekot Durbar. Meanwhile, director Yadav Bhattarai has announced to make a film based on the history of Tamekot Durbar.

According to legend, there was a luxurious king in the kingdom of Tamekot (medieval). Due to him, the people there had to suffer a lot. That is why the queen captives the king and takes control of the kingdom. At that time, the queen bravely fought against the internal conspiracies inside the state and the attacks of the external state and sacrificed her life.

”A few years ago, iron and copper weapons and metals were found in the Tamekot area,” Basyal said. That’s why we’re doing more research. ”

He says that the reconstruction of the palace will start after completing the entire research
work within two years.
