Kathmandu, December 24
A prisoner serving a 20-year sentence in a duty life case in Dang has escaped on a police
motorcycle. Jayaram Pariyar, 28, of Rajpur village in Ghorahi Jail escaped from the hospital on Thursday afternoon.
District Police Chief SP Suresh Kafle informed that Pariyar, who is also the head of Ghorahi
Prison, absconded on Thursday afternoon. According to him, Pariyar had boarded a motorcycle (Lu 34 Pa 410) with police constable Dhan Bahadur Chaudhary at a hospital in Ghorahi at around 11 in the morning asking for skin treatment. District Police Chief SP Suresh Kafle said that Pariyar police constable Chaudhary fled on a motorcycle after opening the handcuffs for treatment.
According to him, it is suspected that Pariyar fled with the connivance of police constable
Chaudhary. Police Jawan Chaudhary had informed about the incident only around 4 pm.
Chaudhary’s role has been questioned and he is being kept in custody. Police have been mobilized to search for the fugitive, said SP Kafle.
