The United States will provide an additional 16 million vaccines to Asia countries, including Nepal, through Covax

The United States has allocated an additional 16 million vaccines to 18 Asian countries, including Nepal, through CoVax. The United States has announced that it will distribute 80 million vaccines to low-and middle-income countries by the end of June, according to Online News reports.

The United States on Monday released details of the remaining 55 million vaccine distributions. Accordingly, 16 million vaccines will be distributed to 18 countries in Asia through Covax. Earlier on June 3, the United States had allocated 7 million vaccines to Asian countries. The White House said in a statement that the first phase of the vaccine was reaching various countries. The United States has said that the first phase of the vaccine will reach these countries by June.

The Asian countries that have been vaccinated by the US include India, Nepal, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Afghanistan, Maldives, Bhutan, Philippines, Vietnam, Indonesia, Thailand, Malaysia, Laos, Papua New Guinea, Taiwan, Cambodia and The Pacific Islands. In the first phase, the United States distributed very little vaccine to Asian countries, but this time it has allocated the most to the region. The United Stated will distribute 75 percent of the 80 million vaccines to various countries through Covax, while the remaining 25 percent will be distributed directly to various countries.
