Manahari (Makawanpur), June 8:
The respected leader of CPN (Unified Socialist), Jhalnath Khanal, has commented on the rise of right-wing opportunism in the communist parties. Inaugurating the municipal committee convention of the CPN (US) here today, leader Khanal said the communist parties cannot survive without the ‘agenda’ of socialism.
Leader Khanal, also the former Prime Minister, said socialist revolution was the need of the moment. He argued that socialism is indispensable for the proportional development of the country.
“Now all political parties should focus on socialism,” he said. Arguing that socialism will address the problems and grievances of grassroots-level people, he emphasized that all three levels of government in the federal governance system should introduce socialist programmes and provide services to the citizens easily.
