On public holidays, it is prohibited to take the keys out of government vehicles, according to instructions from the Ministry of Home Affairs.

After many groups took the keys to the government vehicles that were operating on public holidays, the administration issued this directive. The order was given during a Wednesday meeting at the home secretary level.

The government vehicles have been driven on public holidays for the past several days, and actions like stopping the vehicles and removing the keys are being taken in the name of various groups, according to the letter delivered to the police headquarters and all the district administration offices.

The house has asked that the required preparations be made since vehicles carrying flags, those utilized by security services, ambulances, fire trucks, and other essential vehicles are exempt from the requirement for a vehicle pass on public holidays. The police and the district administration office have been directed by the Home Ministry to inform the public of this.

In addition to the essential services, the house has said that vehicles must be allowed to drive even on holidays, they should only be driven with a needed vehicle pass.
