Chief Election Commissioner Dinesh Kumar Thapaliya has said that the local level elections have contributed more to the implementation of democracy and federalism.
In the public and review program of the local election, 2079 supervision report organized by the General Election Supervision Committee in Kathmandu on Wednesday, Chief Commissioner Thapaliya said that local level elections played a big role in implementing federalism strongly.
He mentioned that the attractiveness of the local level has been increased by the resignation of provincial members and nominations for the head of the local level.
He said that elections can be held before the end of the five years, saying that there will be no dispute over the tenure at the local level.
Similarly, he said that local elections are also meaningful based on gender and inclusiveness. In the program, Thapaliya claimed that the local elections had established a strong belief that the voters’ trust should be won for the elections.
