Nepal Medical Association has welcomed the Act on the safety of health workers and health institutions

The Nepal Medical Association has welcomed the Act on the safety of health workers and health institutions.

The Association held a press conference in Kathmandu on Thursday and welcomed the First Amendment Act on the Safety of Health Workers and Health Institutions passed by the Parliament saying that it provides for the safety of doctors and health workers.

With the law’s passing, the association has requested the government to operate Nepal’s medical education and health services following the laws and regulations.

At the press conference, Dr. Lochan Karki, president of the association, said that it was a positive thing for the government to consider the suggestions given by the association in making the act.

He expressed his gratitude to all those who took the initiative to pass the law.

In the press conference, former officials of the association expressed their belief that the new law introduced by the government will be implemented.

The association has said that it is continuing many efforts for the safety of Nepalese doctors and to maintain peace and security in health institutions and hospitals.
