Governor of Nepal Rastra Bank Maha Prasad Adhikari has informed that preparations are being made to bring monetary policy for the coming fiscal year to improve the country’s economy.

At a meeting of the Finance Committee held at Singha Durbar on Monday, Governor Adhikari said that preparations were being made to bring monetary policy to improve the economy as now the situation had eased even though various programs had been introduced during the Corona epidemic.

Governor Adhikari also said that a solution should be found by raising the bank’s interest rate as the recent rise in inflation has hit the public hard.

He informed that foreign exchange reserves were under pressure due to high imports and the balance of payments deficit was also increasing.

Governor Adhikari said that a large part of the loans and remittances disbursed by banks and financial institutions went to imports, adding that the central bank was serious about this issue.
