Minister for Drinking Water Umakanta Chaudhary has made it clear that there will be no shortage of drinking water in Kathmandu.

There won’t be a drinking water scarcity in Kathmandu, according to Minister of Drinking Water Umakanta Chaudhary. On Monday, Minister Chaudhary said that by processing Bagmati water in Sundarijal and providing more than 5–6 crore liters of processed water and 50 million liters of underground water, the people of Kathmandu would not lack drinking water. The statue of former prime minister Krishna Prasad Bhattarai will be in Gokarneshwor Municipality-1, Sundarijal.  He stated that a study was just being conducted to see whether water could be transported to the Kathmandu Valley from sources other than Melamchi. According to Minister Chaudhary, the tunnel was closed to prevent flooding from damaging the Melamchi tunnel. Minister Chaudhary stated that the work to limit landslides would begin in the following fiscal year in accordance with the findings of a team from the Asian Development Bank that is studying the geological state of the Melamchi River.

The construction of a statue commemorating Krishna Prasad Bhattarai near the Sundarijal tunnel was previously approved at a cabinet meeting on April 7.
