Affiliates of the Nepali Congress protested on Monday outside the party’s headquarters in Sanepa, calling for the sister organization’s immediate scientific completion. The Nepal Student Union, Tarun Dal, and other Sister Organizations organized a rally demanding the implementation of the constitution as the leaders arrived at the party headquarters for the meeting of the Central Committee. Slogans like “Manage the party yourself, we’ll run the Nepal Student Union ourselves, accept the constitution or the people, whether the sister organization is needed to Congress or not” were chanted during the protest in support of Shekhar Koirala’s party. As soon as Chairman Sher Bahadur Deuba arrived at the meeting location, police intervened as the cadres attempted to block the car with chants. The police and the protesters got into a fight.
They were protesting, demanding that the party’s constitution be followed, and the sister organization be accomplished without intervention.
