Indian national arrested for bypassing international calls

Kathmandu, June 22

An Indian national from Birgunj, Parsa district, has been arrested by police on charges of
bypassing international calls.

Irfan Sufian Khan of India was arrested in Birgunj on Tuesday by a team from the Central
Investigation Bureau (CIB) of the Nepal Police and the District Police Office, Parsa, on charges of illegally bypassing international calls.

While Khan was illegally bypassing international calls from Manan Miya Teli’s house in Birgunj Metropolitan City-2, a team sent by the bureau in coordination with Police Inspector Bishal Malla of the Ward Police Office arrested khan.

On the basis of special information, the police raided Teli’s house and arrested Khan with various materials and equipment used to bypass calls through the Voice over Internet Protocol (VOIP). The incident is being further investigated and Khan has been handed over to the District Police Office, Parsa, said Inspector Ganesh Subedi.
