The government has been directed by the House of Representatives (HoR) to respond to the rise in petroleum product prices.
After the main opposition CPN-UML demanded clarification from the government on the price hike for petroleum products, Speaker Agni Prasad Sapkota made the ruling in the House of Representatives on Monday.
With effect from Sunday midnight, the Nepal Oil Corporation (NOC) raised the price of petrol to Rs 199 per liter and diesel to Rs 192.
