ANNFSU calls for strong participation in the movement against inflation

Kathmandu, June 20

The ANNFSU, a student group associated with the CPN-UML, has demanded that the price rise on petroleum goods be removed immediately. On Monday, ANNFSU released a statement saying that unless the price raise was withdrawn, it will start a determined attack against it.

”By raising the prices of petroleum items directly connected to people’s fundamental necessities, ANNFSU firmly demands quick reversal of the price rise, which was aimed at creating a profit simply to cover its weaknesses,” according to the statement.

”ANNFSU relies on the whole community, general leaders and activists to take a determined stand against the price rise,” ANNFSU Chairperson Sunita Baral said in a statement.

With effect from 12 p.m. on Sunday, Nepal Oil Corporation has raised the price of petroleum products. Petrol has been raised by Rs 21 to Rs 199 per liter, while diesel and kerosene have been raised by Rs 27 to Rs 192 per liter.
