Kathmandu Metropolitan City is making public its policies and programs today

Kathmandu, June 19

Today, the Kathmandu Metropolitan City makes its policies and programs public. The policy and program will be presented at the Municipal Assembly, which will take place at 3 p.m. at the National Assembly. On June 24, the budget for the Fiscal Year 2079/80 will be presented, based on the same policies and program.

There is uncertainty as to what policies, programs, and budget will be implemented under
Mayor Balendra Sah (Balen), who gained the position of mayor by beating a political party
candidate and running as an independent candidate.

Since Mayor Sah is in the minority on the Municipal Council, the policy and program will have to be passed with the help of elected people’s representatives from other political parties.

Meanwhile, the Kathmandu Metropolitan City’s executive committee met this morning to review policy and program.

The corporation, which has been holding live meetings in the past, did not do so today. The
meeting was not broadcast live since it was informal, according to Mayor Sah’s office.
