The Prime Minister of Sri Lanka will present a roadmap for economic recovery

Kathmandu, June 17

Sri Lankan Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe is expected to offer a roadmap to parliament soon to aid the country’s recovery from its current economic crisis. Bikram Singh stated that the roadmap will be created after parliamentarians met on Thursday night to examine the present economic situation and received recommendations and comments.

Finance Ministry Secretary Mahinda Siriwardena informed parliamentarians of the
government’s short- and medium-term plans to address the present economic crisis on Thursday night. Sri Lanka is experiencing its worst economic crisis since independence.
The country’s main fuel distributor, Ceylon Petroleum Corporation, stated it only had 5,000 metric tonnes of petrol and so only 500 metric tonnes were shipped to gas stations every day.

The country is now experiencing a serious gasoline shortage.
