Nepal’s glorious victory over Oman

Kathmandu, June 15

In the ICC Cricket World Cup League 2, Nepal beat Oman by 7 wickets. Oman’s 164-run goal was successfully chased down in 101 balls for three wickets.

The openers, Kushal Bhurtel and Asif Sheikh, both played half-century innings in Nepal’s victory.

Sheikh led the way with 62 runs, while Bhurtel contributed in with 56. Rohit Poudel, who scored 26 runs while remaining undefeated, guided the team to victory. Fayaz Butt grabbed two wickets for Oman, while Khawal Ali took one.

Oman was previously restricted to 163 runs in 46.5 overs as Karan KC secured five wickets.
Sandeep Lamichhane, the captain, helped KC by collecting three wickets. Oman was led by
captain Jason Maqsood, who scored 52 runs, and Sandeep Gaud, who scored 47 runs.

Nepal had already lost the opening match of the series to Oman by 13 runs. Similarly, the
second match between Nepal and the United States ended in a draw. Nepal has 15 points after 15 games, winning seven, losing seven, and drawing one.
