Kathmandu, June 11
The Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation has appointed Swatantra Pratap Shah as the tourism ambassador of Nepal to Australia.
His tenure as the ambassador would be two years. A minister-level meeting recently took a
decision to this effect. Joint secretary of the ministry, Hom Prasad Luitel handed over an
appointment letter to Shah amid a function here today.
The newly-appointed ambassador would cooperate with the Nepali Embassy and stakeholders to promote tourism, it has been said. The ministry also expects him to play an important role in promoting the country’s tourism.
Engaged in teaching and hotel entrepreneurship, Shah from Kalimati in Achham district is the president of the Federation of International Nepali Youth Entrepreneurs. He also worked as vice president of the Non-Resident Nepali Association, Australia.
