Kathmandu, June 8
Yogesh Bhattarai, a member of the main opposition CPN-UML party, has recommended that no one should be allowed to run for the ministerial position after the age of 70.
He recommended that no state entity should be permitted to contest elections after the age of 70, at a House of Representatives hearing on Wednesday on the ministry-by-ministry budget.
”Why not develop an agreement whereby no state entity would be permitted to contest elections after 70 years?” he remarked, pointing to a system that allows personnel to retire after 58 years.
”We need a working prime minister, not a sleeping prime minister,” he continued.
