Seven districts of Sudurpaschim remain out of communication

Kathmandu, June 8

Communication services have been cut off in seven mountainous districts of Sudurpaschim
Province, including Baitadi.

Due to glitches in optical fiber along the Attariya-Dadeldhura pathway, Nepal Telecom Baitadi Chief Bikram Tamata shared that mobile, telephone, and internet services have remained disrupted.

He further stated that telecommunication services have been discontinued in Baitadi, Darchula, Dadeldhura, Bajhang, Doti, Achham, and Bajura.

The telecom services that went out of gear since 2:00 PM on Tuesday have not yet resumed.

Information officer for the District Administration Office, Baitadi, Khagendra Bharati shared that service delivery has been affected with the disruption in mobile, telephone, and internet services.

“In the absence of the internet, we could not provide administrative services such as the
collection of details for national identity cards and distribution of citizenship certificates,” he
further shared.
