General Manager of Air Services Corporation Poudel fired

Kathmandu, June 7

Dim Prasad Poudel, the General Manager of Nepal Airlines Corporation, has been fired by the government. Poudel was dismissed at the cabinet meeting on Monday, according to the
Ministry of Culture, Tourism, and Civil Aviation. The ministry has already demanded explanation from Poudel.

The government had brought General Manager Poudel before the ministry, claiming that he
had acted against the corporation’s best interests. Prem Bahadur Ale, the Minister for Culture, Tourism, and Civil Aviation, had proposed Poudel’s firing to the Council of Ministers, claiming that he had acted against the corporation’s best interests. Poudel was chosen as the corporation’s general manager for four years by the then-KP Sharma Oli-led government.
