Kathmandu, June 6
On Sunday evening, a bus (UK-04 1541) crashed into a drain in Uttarkashi, Uttarakhand. There were 30 people on board, including 28 pilgrims and a driver-cleaner from Madhya Pradesh’s Panna area.
The accident claimed the lives of 26 persons, according to Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami. The passengers were all en route to Chardham.
The NDRF team is still working on the rescue. From the disaster control room, Uttarakhand’s Chief Minister is supervising the rescue operation. Shivraj Singh Chauhan, the Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh, arrived in Dehradun late Sunday night.
Purala SHO Ashok Kumar stated there was a challenge getting the body to the road because of the deep hole and darkness. After the accident in Uttarakhand, a medical team and an ambulance arrived on the scene. The injured have been taken to a local hospital and are undergoing treatment.
