The House of Representatives begins a theoretical budget debate

Kathmandu, May 31

The theoretical discussion on the annual estimate (budget) of revenue and spending for the
fiscal year 2079/80 has begun in today’s House of Representatives meeting. Finance Minister Janardhan Sharma recommended a wide debate on the annual estimate at today’s House of Representatives meeting.

Speaker Agni Prasad Sapkota has set May 31, June 1, and 2 as the deadlines for the Finance Minister’s response to the debate and the questions addressed. The budget is presented to parliament on the 29th of May each year, as required by the constitution.
