Budget for the Fiscal Year 2079/80 today

At 4 p.m. on Sunday, the government will propose the budget for the upcoming fiscal year
2079/80. Finance Minister Janardhan Sharma will give the yearly revenue and spending
forecasts for the Fiscal Year 2079/80, as required by Article 119 of the Constitution.

Speaker Sapkota has ordered that all legislators arrive at the parliament building by 3:35 p.m. for the budget presentation. ”In accordance with Article 119 of the Constitution of Nepal, the Hon’ble Finance Minister is scheduled to deliver the Annual Estimates of Revenue and Expenditure for the Fiscal Year 2079/80,” Speaker Sapkota remarked. I recommend that you arrive in the House of Representatives meeting room by 3:45 p.m. and take your seat. The next House of Representatives meeting will be placed at 6 p.m. on Sunday, May 29, 2022.

The government is planning a new budget that will place a greater priority on domestic production since the country’s balance of payments is being stressed by high imports and declining remittances. The new budget has a maximum of Rs 1.745 trillion imposed by the National Planning Commission. The administration has said that it will stay within its financial restraints.

Finance Minister Janardhan Sharma had previously provided the House of Representatives with the Economic Survey 2078/079, Annual Status of Public Enterprises, Review 2079, Ministry-wise Progress Report, Reality of the Fiscal Year 2077/078 BS, and details of the Fiscal Year 2078/079 BS. The House of Representatives next meeting is scheduled for May 29 at 6 p.m.
